At New Readers Publishers we believe that people (both adults and children) learn to read by reading. This means that in order to learn to read, people need access to books. Not only do they need access to books, but they need access to books that are appropriate - that is, books in their own language and books that are the right level of text difficulty. Further, we believe that people have different reading preferences and they therefore need access to a variety of different types of books (or genres).

It is common sense that if a variety of appropriate and interesting books are provided, and learners of all ages are given plenty of opportunities to practice reading, the chances of teaching and learning reading and creating lifelong readers is greatly increased.
